  • The Movie Theatre

    Hola!

I come from a strong, Christian background. My mother and I agree about almost everything Christian. One thing I will never understand, though, is that she doesn't allow me to go to the movies. She says Christians shouldn't go to the theatre. I don't see what the problem is, as long as I'm seeing a clean movie. She says it's not uplifting to my spirit. But so are a lot of things that Christians do daily! So . . .

Do you think going to see a movie in the theatre is a bad thing? Why or why not?

A few generations ago, movie theatres were associated with a certain kind of immoral life.  Other vestiges of that sinful era are playing cards, pool tables and social dancing, which are also all activities which are sinless in themselves but which a pocket of conservative Christians refuse to engage in.

    Personally, I disagree entirely.
