  • Moving & Lack of Internet

    Hey Everyone,

Just wanted to post an update. There's a reason why I haven't been more active the past week or two here. I'm moving! It's been extremely hectic with a bunch of stuff going wrong, but I've got faith that God will help us through it all no matter what happens.

It is exciting, though. It's the first house I own! Well, co-own. My mom and I went joint title on it, which is so cool. It's right around the block from the house I grew up in, so I know a lot of people in the area and am looking forward to going for walks again. Where we're living right now isn't safe for that kind of stuff, but the house is in a really quiet neighborhood.

The whole situation is really a whole series of miracles. Just about 4 months ago my mom and I were almost living on the street, with only $40 to our name and no way of getting any income. Now we own a house! It's a long story that I'll tell once I'm settled in and have more time, but it's truly amazing how God has worked in my life the past years -- especially lately. I love and trust Him so much now. He's never let me down, even in the trials.

You know, every time something goes right something else always goes wrong. It's a very interesting pattern in my life this year. At first it was once in awhile, but this last month it has been almost every day. It's like the new house -- we have a bunch of work crews renovating it before we move in, right? Well, it all started off okay. Then the issues started to appear to the point my mom and I are absolutely flipping out at times. They were supposed to be done for Saturday so that we could move into the house being finished. This, however, didn't happen. There's a chance now that we may have all 3 bathrooms being worked on when we move in, not to mention all closets and cabinets are unusable for 30 days while the paint cures (we were not warned about this in advance, which is a pain. We can't even unpack our food or dishes!). It's frustrating. My mom's health has been very poor and the last thing we needed was to have work crews in her ensuite right after we move in.

Anyway, that's just one of the issues. When I said every time something goes right something goes wrong, I really meant it. I won't list it all here because it's really pointless. I don't believe in complaining. Whatever God allows to happen in my life, I will be happy about. It may get hard or stressful, but it doesn't mean that I don't trust Him.  I'll just be really glad when all of this is over and we can enjoy the blessings that the New Kingdom holds..without the trials!

God really is amazing, though. The way He can turn a trial into such a blessing, such a positive experience -- if you just let Him! Every time something gets hard it provides the opportunity to draw nearer to Him, to get to know and trust Him more. It gives Him a chance to work a miracle in your life, to help you, to guide you, to save you.

My motto: If going through the trials I have suffered through can help just one person -- inspire them, save them, be a testimony of God's love and mercy to them -- then it was all worth it. In the end, when we're gone, that's the lasting impact we can have. To have helped even just one person in a positive way is my whole purpose. So I praise the Lord for the opportunity to do so, no matter how hard it gets.

God bless, all. I'll be gone for a bit while I'm switching service providers and getting settled in. Could be back by the end of the week, or it could be 2 weeks.

    Sarah
