    Three Things

This was an e-mail I received from a friend.  I thought I'd share it as it is very encouraging.

Three things in life that, once gone, never come back -

    1. Time
    2. Words
    3. Opportunity

Three things in life that can destroy a person -

    1. Anger
    2. Pride
    3.  Unforgiveness

Three things in life that you should never lose-

    1. Faith
    2.  Hope
    3. Love

Three things in life that are most valuable -

    1. Love
    2. Family/Friends
    3.  Kindness

Three things in life that are never certain -

    1. Fortune
    2. Success
    3.  Dreams

Three things that make a person -

    1. Commitment
    2. Sincerity
    3.  Hard work

Three things that are truly constant-

Father - Son - Holy Spirit

I ask the Lord to bless you, as I pray for you today; to guide you and protect you, as you go along your way. God's love is always with you, God's promises are true. And when you give God all your cares, God will see you through.

And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love. 1Corinthians 13:13

Seeking God, and giving up my worries...

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.  Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.  Matthew 6:33-34

I worry a lot...I worry about my family's safety, about finances, about the future...I have even been know to worry about the weather!  I get myself so tied up in knots inside that I have actually become ill at times from the worry.  Many people have given me advice on how stop worrying: Exercise, relaxing in a warm bath, focussing on a hobby. However, none of those things work.  Oh, these things may take my mind off of my concerns momentarily, but I always end up with that familiar, nagging feeling of worry that ties my stomach in knots and makes me not very pleasant to live with. I have found that my own efforts do not work to calm my worries.

I have found that the only way to stop worrying is to look outside of myself, to seek God through prayer and reading the Bible, seeking His will for my life.  I find that when I am seeking God's kingdom first, my worries and concerns are put into perspective, and they cease to be worries any longer.  God's peace fills my heart, and He takes all my fears away.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your path. Proverbs 3:5-6

Worrying is wrong.  It stumbles us, it consumes us, and it can even shake our faith...When we worry we are not focussing on God, and we are not trusting in God to take care of our needs.  I wish I could say I have learned this lesson, but I still have days when I get caught up in worry.  It's then that I have to turn my eyes to heaven and seek God.  Life is full of trials, there is nothing we can do to stop them. However, when we place our focus on God and seek Him in all areas of our life, He will give us a peace that goes beyond our understanding.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplications, with thanksgiving, make your requests be made known to God, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7

    When darkness overwhelms me,

    The road I’m on unclear

I lift my eyes to heaven

To the Lord I give my fear.

He steadies me when I stumble

    Strengthens me when I’m weak

He gives me the light of hope

    When circumstances are bleak.

    In Him my heart rejoices

    Finding refuge in His love

    Forever He is with me

    Giving guidance from above.

    In Your Eyes

    I see in Your eyes,

    A thousand tomorrows,

    The promise of forever,

    Of life made complete,

    This love is not fragile,

    It will never fade away

It is stronger than I can fathom,

    Deeper than my understanding,

    Repairing my damaged heart,

    Reflected in Your eyes

I see the beauty of salvation,

I hold You with all I am

    For I am yours, forever.

Hi everyone...I'm new to revelife, but not to blogging. I do have another blog on Xanga, more for my everyday meanderings about my faith, family and life. Although I do speak about what the Lord is doing in my family's lives on my Xanga site, I've been reading revelife and thought I would make a site where I will mostly post my devotions, Christian poetry I've written and share a little about what God has brought me through. I've been a Christian for 25 years now, and the road has not always been a smooth one...but through the joy and the sorrow, the ups and the downs, God has always remained faithful. Our God is truly an awesome God!!!
