  • I Can’t Go Back: Standing in the Faith

    By Roderick Evans

    Life is filled with many obstacles. This is just a proven fact. Aside from the difficulties that life can bring, maintaining a vibrant, walk with Christ can seem more like a burden than a blessing.

    If we are brutally honest with ourselves, we can attest to feeling like it had been better not to have known Christ because knowledge of Him brings responsibilities with never ending spiritual warfare. However, in light of these things, we still have to have as our statement of faith, “I Can’t Go Back!”

    And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. Luke 9:62 (KJV)

    Though times can get hard, people can misunderstand you, and God can seem unresponsive to you, going back to world and its lusts is simply not an option. Remember, salvation has promise in the life to come and also in this one.

    We have to take Peter’s stance when Christ asked them would they leave Him also. Peter said where can we go, you have the words of eternal life.

    In Christ, there is life and if we do not ever get what we want in this life, in the life to come there is everlasting joy, peace, and health. This is the HOPE of our salvation.

    Yes, indeed. Without Christ, life would be miserable, and after death would be eternal torture. I will say "yes" to Jesus, no matter the cost. He will come through as my all-sufficient Savior and Lord, with joy unspeakable and full of glory awaiting me... in heaven and often here on earth!

    @jothornbu - Amen!

    For the person who wrote this, did you think that being a Christian would be easy? When you serve Christ, there's a cost and I am sure you were told that before you decided to give your life up to Him. I rather have hardships now than spend eternity in damnation.  I feel very sad for you. You care so much on what people think and griping and complaining about life and not focusing on what Christ did for you. You didn't read about Christ saying whike he was dying on the cross "Oh, I wish I would be went back because I am in so much pain!". He was looking at the prize and so should you. Stop being a weak Christian. I am brutally honest when I say this, I am glad I am for Christ and I NEVER wanna go back. My life sucked without Him!
