Lay Your Burden Down
I never realized how much I held onto as I was growing up.Grief, Pain, anguish - yes, all were present at one time or another in my life. There's another form of burden I think we have at times, called Anxiety.
We are an anxious people, filled with all sorts of information. This information comes en masse with radio, TV, internet, school...well, you name it, we are completely inundated with mass amounts of information to process each day.
It's no wonder then why we tend to over complicate that thing called 'life'.
Many people, both in and out of the church, don't recognize what Jesus is all about - not because they haven't heard the Gospel - but rather that they are so filled with other information that they can't recognize what really resides before them in plain site.
It's said somewhere that if you fail to plan, then you plan to fail. Logically then, we have to plan out not only this life - not just for us, but for those who remain after us.
Morbid thought, I know, but that's what making a significant life is all about.
We have to set examples for those who follow, examples that can stand the test of time.
There are those times, however, where we get in our own way. Not because of someone else not living the Christian walk as they should, but rather we have our own anxieties and issues.
When we get out of our own way, and allow what is right and true to stand firm - then we'll realize how much freedom we truly have in Christ.
Cast aside all preconceptions of what you think God is or isn't, after all - if God does exist and he made all things - who are we but a speck of thought in the midst of the universe.
Let go, and see what God has for you.
What burden do you need to lay down? Why is it hard for us to let go of our anxieties, fears and failures?
