The Changing Seasons of Life
What season of faith are you walking through? Fall (letting go) – Winter (loss/waiting) – Spring (new starts) – Summer (embrace and celebrate) Approach it any way you feel inspired! Only required ingredient: keep it real. This is a very interesting topic for me. Two years ago when I was taking the youth ministry certificate classes the last class I took was all about your own spiritual journey and keeping your faith life in check. I found that class very refreshing because it just brought everyone to reality that we forget we're there to help the youth of the church but we so easily forget to take care of our own faith lives.
In that particular class we had to write our own "Mission Statement" and we started talking about our "seasons of life" and how different people in the class were in different stages. Which is what this Faith Barista topic is about. Where in life we fall. After reading this topic I can see that I have been in all 4 of these phases of life.
Last year I was in Winter for most of the year. In June of 2010 I lost my Grandmother on my Mom's side, and then in January of 2011 I lost my Grandmother on my Dad's side. This was a very difficult time for our family because we no sooner got over one loss and had another one to deal with. In dealing with this loss my Mom was struggling with her position at her job and decided it was time for her to move on and find a new job in a new parish. But I feel all these different things had to happen for our family to come to that decision.
However now a year later we have moved from Texas to Florida and are now in the season of Spring! We are starting the next season of life in the sunshine state. We have been enjoying everything this wonderful state has to offer us, especially the beautiful beaches!
One thing I've been struggling with is job searching. It's so hard to look for a new job in a new city where you don't know anyone. But I'm slowly learning to deal with it by keeping myself busy with this wonderful world of blogging and job searching. Another thing I have started with this new season of life is couponing -- which you all obviously know, because that is what my blog is all about.
The coolest part about this new season of life is our new parish. The Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine -- America's First Parish. There is something very peaceful about going to mass each week at such a historical church. It's not just a cathedral; it's America's First Parish, and to think someday I may get married in that parish, every Catholic's dream.
All in all I am thoroughly enjoying this new phase of life and would like to keep it this way for a little bit before the seasons change again.
What season are you in now? When have you experienced a season change in your life?

Snow is piling up above my roof...
Still in the winter, waiting for my spring to come though I don't know when. Good luck, Beth. :)
Early spring. I'm in the season of deep healing. But healing is on its way- looking forward to New Beginnings soon!
