Does the World View the Church as a Peacemaker?
In his book From Pentescost to Patmos Craig Blomberg writes,Whatever side one comes down on in the debates on government-sanctioned war and capital punishment, Christians ought to agree that the world should be able to see the church as an institution promoting reconciliation, relief efforts, and humanitarian aid in all situations of human violence.
I would have replaced the word institution with the word body and added the word creating beside the word promoting. Regardless of my preferences, I love what Blomberg has to say here.
Does the world see the church this way? What can we do right now where we are - together - to start making that a reality?

I'm working in China on missions and Christians are widely viewed as peaceful but misunderstood as a threat by the government (because of their stance on sin).
So yes, I think there are a lot of people in the world who do view the Church as peaceful.
Seems like only in countries like America where Christians appear to have nothing better to do than sit around arguing with each other that this view is not held.
