I think it's tacky. As a Christian I feel like the shirt wouldnt send nonbelievers a good message about the faith.
if it gets me free coffee FUCK YEAH!!!
but even if it dosen't... STILL FUCK YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really don't understand what connection any of it has to do with Starbucks. All these Christian shirts that rip off other designs or cultural fads are such uncreative cash-ins on the lucrative Christian market. I don't like any of it, but if you're going to rip something off atleast put some effort into making it remotely relevant.
Absolutely cringe-worthy.
nononono. it's quite tacky.
No, I try to put my time and effort into keeping my Lord's commandments, rather than filling the coffers of some cheesy t-shirt manufacturer.
No, never.
thats quite a clever design...makes Jesus more 'everywhere' for everyone...
ive seen that shirt before... ive actually seen a lot of the shirts in the shirt posts. lol
It just makes me want to get a Starbucks t-shirt
Would I wear it? I already own it lol! Check out this article on Christian apparel:
no, i think we christian should use our creativity to make some original design instead of getting the ideas from the pop culture..... there are too many t-shirts were used in the same idea as their selling point (those meant to be ironic t-shirt).... and i think the others might think we're just being ironic as well......
I wouldn't, but you sure can if it makes you happy.
no. as much as i like Starbucks, it's not coffee that saves me. and i don't like mixing Jesus with Starbucks...
but i'd like to share a cup of joe with Him later
Haha yes. I love Jesus & I love Starbucks so it works for me. I like cheesy shirts. :l
@KalenWrites - "If a t-shirt is what solidifies your belief and is your mode of evangelism..." Why not think of it as a casual tee putting forth one's beliefs in a impactful yet simple manner? It may publicly display one's beliefs but i don't think it's to the extent of solidifying them. And i personally don't use these tees as a mode of evangelism, just merely wearing them with the intention of making a statement (about my belief). I feel that the whole thing about wearing such tees is just but a trivial matter, not as serious as you've looked at it! (:
I most definitely would. I'm proud of my Saviour, are you?
no, it's tacky. i hate stealing logos and inserting random christian blahblahblahs.
Probably not.
Actually, in many situations it could be very useful. For instance, if someone with artistic taste has swallowed poison and you need to induce vomiting.
Only if I was getting paid about $1000 every time I wore it.
Heck no, I might get arrested for copyright infringement... : (
yeah sure, if i needed a shirt to wear
As I've said before, there's no underestimating the American public's taste. Including Christians.
@blowme_raspberries@xanga - It isn't a huge deal, but I feel like...at least to the Non-Christian world...it's a mode of evangelism. I guess it's more me, personally, because I try really hard not to push my beliefs. I had one Christian t-shirt, made by my youth group, which had a picture of a sad person on an island. On the top it said LOST? and on the back it said
"YOU NEED G. GOD P. PROVIDES S. SALVATION"
And in the context of wearing it to youth group, it works. It may have been preaching to the choir, but yeah...I know, at least, that when I see someone with an outrageous t-shirt (Ever seen the YouTube parody shirt?) I either a, find it hard to take them seriously or b, expect them to be SOOO CRAZY for Jesus that I run away. I know that's alot of preconception, but that's pretty much what your clothing is. I should also state though that I don't refuse to talk to someone or something just because of their t-shirt. :) I wear a cross sometimes. I just think I have a problem more with the fact that it's a Starbucks logo, or a subway logo, or a myspace logo, turned into something Christian. Fads are fleeting, and that's what all of those are. Jesus' love is forever.
A kid in my science class this year had a Christian tee for every day of the week. Some were ridiculous (COPS parody, subway parody) and some were downright awesome. He had this one that was like a rock band tour shirt that was for Jesus and listed cities and miracles he performed. I thought that was original and cool. He also had a bracelet he wore every day that said "SMILE, GOD BELIEVES IN YOU. AND HE CAN'T BE WRONG!" I always wanted to ask him where he got that one...
no.
lol i have it. but i dont wear it much because its brown and due to my darker skin tone it just doesnt work on me. but i think it's very creative!
