  • RevelifeRocks Artist of the Week: The Myriad

The RevelifeRocks Artist of the Week is The Myriad from Seattle, Washington.

Chances are you’ve heard some of The Myriad’s stuff on MTV or maybe even when playing Rock Band.  Although this band started small not so long ago they’ve quickly grown extremely popular, which isn’t hard to believe when you hear how talented these guys are. You don’t even have to take my word for it.

One very important turning point in this group’s career was MTV’s “Dew Circuit Breakout.” The Myriad was one of the 12 out of 4000 bands that were chosen to be finalists for this competition, already a great accomplishment. It didn’t stop there, though. Based solely on fan votes, The Myriad ultimately won the entire competition. With this victory came tons of publicity and great honor. Eventually their music video for the song “Clean Shot” (that is also featured on the video game Rock Band) became the most played video on MTV for May 2008.

The reason why The Myriad has had all this success is not just because they were on TV, but their musical genius is definitely something to be commended. Their lyrics are piercing and profound, sometimes dark. Jeremy Edwardson’s passionate vocals bring these lyrics to life and the music only adds to the mood. The members of The Myriad don’t merely write songs, they write stories, those that keep the reader sucked in.

The Myriad has released two major full-length albums, You Can’t Trust a Ladder and With Arrows, With Poise. From the latter album, enjoy the song “Don’t Let Them See You!”

Hmm- they seem to be decent. A little too pop-comtemporary though. revelife needs to feature a decent Christian rock band, instead of all this contemporary trash. I'm so sick of MercyMe and garbage like that....

ick way to pop-ish and basic for me.  Nothing new or interesting in their music.  Popularity does not equal quality.

If you want some epic story telling bands listen to Symphony X or Kamelot.  If you want something on the heavier side try out protest the hero.

Dude, The Myriad is not pop Christian music. Go listen to You Waste Time Like A Grandfather Clock... or else you can't say anything like that.

I didn’t hear so much about Myriad but we this article I think they are good. Many rock bands were sometimes annoying because of their choice of tempo, lyrics and rhythm. But I guess all of them deserve to be recognized, since they have the talent to show. In relation to entertainment business, the OK magazine Michael Jackson covers is part of a tribute issue to the recently deceased singer.  The Ok magazine Michael Jackson cover isn't going to require an all black cover and no one is forced to smell an allegorical glove, but it's what's inside the cover that has people up in arms.  The magazine is rumored to have the last picture of Michael alive, or perhaps just after death, as the possible post mortem photo taken of the King of Pop.  Critics have thus far denounced the announcement of a possible death photo of Jackson, with the innocent OK magazine Michael Jackson cover, as little more than a crass grab for instant cash.
