Do you think that Jesus will return during your lifetime?

It's possible. And I hope it's soon. But I rather doubt it.
Every generation of Christians thought that their generation was THE LAST ONE, and so far every generation has been wrong. There was all sorts of panic around 1000 AD because people thought it was THE BIG ONE. And remember the Y2K scare? Even the author of Hebrews opens his book writing about "these last days."
If Revelations is to be taken literally, well, there needs to be a Temple for certain events to take place. There's no Temple right now. Revelations describes nothing even remotely resembling America, unless you stretch and make America the heir to the Roman Empire--so before THE LAST DAYS happens, chances are America has to stop being a player on the global stage.
We should live as though he may come back at any moment, because no-one knows the day or the hour. But my guess is it's still several centuries away at least.
Well, according to Scripture, Jesus could come back any day (no one knows when). However, according to science, I could die any day (no one knows when). So statistically it's possible, but these aren't the kind of odds I'd want to put any money down on.
If he comes back in anyone's lifetime, I'll be immensely surprised.
And if he DOES happen to show up in my lifetime, he best bring me that taco that I asked for in tongues yesterday...
i didn't know he ever left.
I hope so.
NO idea.
I think he never life in our life ....
How would you know it was really him? I'm sure a lot of Jesuses are in mental hospitals right now...
If I say yes, then probably no. But it would be awesome if He did come soon!
i hope He does... it just means that evangelism is happening hard and fast in the world... there's a connection between our efforts in evangelizing and telling ppl about Jesus and His return when the last person comes into His Kingdom...
but we Christians can only hope... but if He doesn't, we stay the course...
@LadyLibellule@xanga - when you see piles of clothes laying on the ground and driverless cars flying through the streets and you're all in a panic wondering what is happening...
@leadworshipper82 - Jesus doesn't do physics, eh?
@LadyLibellule@xanga - where do you get that?
Jesus is here with all who believe in Him but whether or not He chooses to reveal Himself on earth is another thing, I don't think its likely but you never know.
i sure hope so, but i have a lot to get right about myself before he does :/
@LadyLibellule@xanga - You know the people you are in relationship with, the ones you know intimately, the ones you are friends with. So all the people in the asylums or the posers that Scripture says are coming--you'll just know that its not your God. They'll be strangers and 'false prophets' to you if you've been hanging out with the One who is Truth.
I hope to know Him when He comes also. I want to be sure I know that it's Him when He comes too--that's another reason I have to work at my relationship with Him. It's a daily journey...But I want to know my Bridegroom when He comes for His Bride... :) I can't wait till the wedding!
As I see what this country is becoming, I do believe it will be soon. I believe it will be in my grandchildrens' lifetime, maybe sooner.
I think so, but we don't know for sure.
No. He most certainly won't. And, I hate to say it, but I'm doubting it will occur. It's sad, I know. Me being a follower of Christ and all, but I have yet to see where the biblical prophecy can come true and if our interpretations are anywhere close. >.>
I don't think so, but no one can know for sure.Â
Absolutely !Â
Yes. I hope He does.
I appreciate that the image you chose for this entry is actually what Jesus would've looked like.
if he duz i imajin it will be a show stopper
@Soul_Pizza@xanga - that is incredibly disrespectful
It doesn't matter what I think; I don't even know how long my life will be. He will return at the appointed time.
