I don't pray at all. If anything, I'd rather them do something because they want to. I will not "pray" for them to become followers or Jesus... I will not push them away from Jesus... I urge them to seek what they think is right.
To me, personally... this whole God, Jesus thing is a fluke. A scam. But hey! Everyone needs something to believe in, so why trash others' beliefs, right? :)
No.
Yes!
Not often enough. I need to though!
I pray for them to have guidance, and to have faith. I don't necessarily pray for them to follow Christianity, it would be unfair.
@BenevolentOne@xanga - Then why are you responding to a revelife post? Its about, wrriten by and for Christians...?
@englishpearl@xanga - Because the question was asked to the mass... what? Because I'm not Christian, I can't respond to a question?
@BenevolentOne@xanga - No, of course you have every right to respond to questions, but you are being purely negative in a "Christian blogging community".
I don't get why would you be interested in responding to a subject aimed at Christians, unless you want to be destructive...?
I do!
@englishpearl@xanga - Didn't I clearly answer the question asked? And didn't I clearly state that I'm not going to push anyone either way but instead let them decide on their own? I don't see that as being destructive by either party...
I Do!
as an agnostic, i'd be insulted if my family members were only concerned with my faith (or lack thereof) when i have no job, no health insurance, and no place to live in two months. being Christian won't help with any of that.
@too_pretty_to_die@xanga - who said that was ALL they would be concerned about. It question was not, do you pray for your unsaved family members to follow Christ, just that and nothing else, including helping in any physical way if they need help and support?
No that was not what was asked.
@englishpearl@xanga - what would be unfair about it?
sometimes, but I just fear about what happens to my parents
Yes, I do.
No. It's their choice, I will not pray for someone to believe in something/someone that they do not wish to.
I'd be negligent to not to. The things of this world are temporary, the afterlife is eternal. If what I believe is in fact the truth, then how could I not pray for my family to come to Jesus? I pray for everyone to come to Jesus, because the alternative is to horrible to think about. To allow a fellow human being to follow his own whim with out at least praying for him - that is not the love that our Lord teaches. Everyone must decide for himself, of course, but a bit of prayer can never hurt.
Yes. We have some family members who either are not Believers or have strayed for decades. I pray for them.
@BenevolentOne@xanga - Well, you said God is a scam then said "no reason to trash others beliefs". That doesn't really make any sense.
I pray for the reunion of all Christians and for all those who do not know God to find Him.
@ohhh_kelsey@xanga - To me, its a scam. I'm not going to sit there and tell you that I think what you think is dumb. I said it was a personal opinion... I'm not saying "He is a scam, you shouldn't believe in him."
@BenevolentOne@xanga - That's fine, but then don't say in the next sentence "why trash others' beliefs, right". Because calling peoples' beliefs a scam is doing just that, whether you want to admit to it or not.
@sugartomyhoney@xanga - I'm unsure, I just think of religion as a very personal thing, and I wouldn't want to interfere. It just feels uncomfortable, I don't know.
