Many people dream of a Heaven where all we do is sit around all day. But Jesus said that we would be joint heirs with Him. An heir is one who inherits not only the property, but the responsibilities in the family. Heavenly Father's greatest desire is for us to grow up like Him. He wants to teach us to do the things He does. That is the reason for His commandments. They prepare us spiritually for our divine inheritance as His spirit children.

I'm sorry, but I don't know how to react to the video. But I did chuckle... in fact, I chuckled a lot. Especially when the woman started singing. It wasn't that she was a bad singer... It was just funny to see how the church members reacted. The people are so stoic and melancholic that it's no wonder why anyone was excited about Heaven. Not to mention how cult-like it seemed with everyone standing in white robes. Now I'm wondering if we'll hear God's voice on a universal PA voice system as we enter pass the holy gates of the New Jerusalem ;P

I have heard that when Heaven comes, everything will be magnified. I don't know what people mean by "magnified". But I think it would mean everything would take on not only a new meaning, but more meaning, more substance, more quality, more colors than our human eyes have ever perceived. Then again, maybe that is only a preacher's wishful thinking.

On another note, the video talked about new bodies, and it's ironic how a majority of the people showed there are of old age. What do you think these new bodies will be like? I've heard on a radio show once where a guy argued that our new bodies will be like Jesus' (obviously). And what was Jesus able to do? Walk on water. Well, okay, perhaps so, right? But then it started getting trippy when he started claiming that we'll be able to teleport and hear people's thoughts. o_O

Laughable, but we hardly know exactly for sure what heaven looks like. Let's just say there are endless possibilities in Heaven?

An expert in brainwashing views Heaven as a technique to brain wash. Simple. As. That. *nods* Now come on you Bible Thumpers :D ... flame me! Cus your God demands you being absurd! Go go go!

  • Endersig@xanga

@lomal@xanga - oh, this is interesting. You wouldn't happen to be LDS, would you?

  • denigma21@xanga

doood...this video is friggin AWESOME! I bet I would trip balls if I watched it blitzed.

Although...everybody gets their own super tower? No one has to worry about rent or payment or aging and everyone is equal? Sounds like socialism to me. I do like that heaven is strictly for white ppl though. I am so sick of these uppity pigmented ppl here in the real world.

  • nicolevw@xanga

uh .,.......... oookkkkaaayyyyyy ........is this for real?

If you want to get excited about Heaven, find a good book about it!   I've said it before, and I'll say it again  -Randy Alcorn's book "Heaven" is by far the best I've ever read ---- and his Scriptural viewpoints on Heaven don't match this video's!!!!!

  • J_Goldens_Shadow@xanga

    @lomal@xanga - I love that doctrine.

@Endersig@xanga - I was thinking the same thing.

While there are abundant and varied sources for conceptions of
Heaven, the typical believer's view appears to depend largely on his religious tradition and particular section. Some religion conceptualize Heaven as pertaining to some type of peaceful life after death related to immortality of the soul. Heaven is generally construed as a place of happiness, sometimes eternal happiness. Even with real problems to deal with, some people just can't put the payday lending dispute on the backburner. South Carolina lawmakers decided to cancel the payday lending dispute altogether, by rejecting a bill capping payday loans to 25% of a borrowers' monthly income or $500 (lowest of the two). Consumer advocates hate it, as they want to see the practice of payday  lending done away with altogether. Many of them would doubtless give all kinds of installment loans to end the payday lending dispute in their favor.

@denigma21@xanga - lmfao. I noticed the overwhelming population of white people, too. And check out the architecture -- totally Greek and Roman. Man, white people must be on top of things in heaven!

But really, I'm fervently hoping this post was a joke to begin with. If not, I'm terrified of anyone who took it seriously.

Also, that little woman ... She totally looks like my Nana. Weird!

  • Pcgecko85@xanga

The sarcasm is overwhelming.  Simmer down now.

  • Soul_Pizza@xanga

This shit always cracks me up.  People sit around and make up crap from the top of their heads about Heaven and Hell, and then call themselves "experts" because they're able to market it.  The people who actually buy into it crack me up even more!

  • Liquid_Pain_523@xanga

I'm confused. Is this post for real? It seems toosilly to be, but it's not often I see sarcastic posts on Revelife. But assuming this isn't...

What makes him an expert? Cause he quotes the bible? He can interpret it too, in ways that he sees fit. Wow, he uses the bible to fit his own agenda, that's a new one.

If no one dies in heaven, it has to be infinitely big. It can't be a finite size, or it would become overcrowded eventually, which would make it not perfect. Unless no one goes to heaven anyway...

Furthermore, everyone would have to have their own personal heaven. Do you really think heaven to me is necessarily heaven to someone else? A lot of the descriptions of heaven don't even sound perfect to me. Good feelings all the time sounds like what you get from drugs, and we all know that conditions you so good becomes normal and normal becomes bad. Not to mention it sounds boring to me.

@denigma21@xanga - Haha. Socialism is definitely heaven to me.

  • vvorldsapart@xanga

hahahahhahaa. that was either wonderfully horrible, or horribly wonderful.

  • Myteggya@xanga

That was so weird. That is NOT what heaven will be like at all. It was funny to watch though.

  • IMChurchmouse@xanga

Very obviously made in the 70's (per the plaid, and leisure suits men were wearing along with the 60's hairdo's on the women).  Very flawed, and yes, kinda scary.

It should be buried with kindness in a nice garden somewhere.  Let us be sure NOT to identify anyone in it, so that they may live it down.

@Endersig@xanga - I thought sure my Greg Olsen profile picture would give it away (grin).

    @J_Goldens_Shadow@xanga - See my reply to Endersig@xanga

  • LoBornlyte@xanga

Does this excite me?  Yeah, like two dogs humping.

What human being can possibly claim to be an expert on heaven?  Jesus' Gospel message concerning heaven has nothing in common with the "experts" portrayed in this post.

  • Endersig@xanga

@lomal@xanga -@J_Goldens_Shadow@xanga - Love to find LDS people on this site. Hi-fives all around!

  • TrumpKoLa@xanga

lol...that guy totally looks like Brick from Anchorman! =P

  • J_Goldens_Shadow@xanga

    @Endersig@xanga -

@lomal@xanga -  Yes! More of my kind! Haha! This is awesome!
  • ambidreamz@xanga

hahaha i was horrified while watching this video wondering who could possibly think that this is what heaven looks like? (except for the white robes part haha) And no one can be an expert on heaven...what does "expert" on heaven even mean? Anyways, I'm really hoping heaven's gonna look a bit more diverse than that too :P

    Revelations 7:9-10:

    9

    After this I
looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could
count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before
the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and
were holding palm branches in their hands.

    10

And they cried out in a loud voice:
       "Salvation belongs to our God,
       who sits on the throne,
       and to the Lamb."
