i teach so i talk about him all the time

  • SerenaDante@xanga

Only when I'm messing with the people on revelife!

  • JUSTAVAPORHERE@xanga

All the time. I talk a lot so it comes natural for me, lol, :)

The other day, in fact, I was talking to a BellSouth representative and we were talking about how God works...His amazing ways!

And in the way of thinking about God, if there are brownie points to be given for how many times we think about Him throughout the day, then I am in great shape, :) I often wonder if everyone else thinks about Him as much as I do or if it's just a me thing, :) It just seems like I see His presence all around, :)

  • SeitekiChibiNeko@xanga

depends on who i'm with. for example, i talk about God and God-related topics more with my friend who's in seminary than with my friend who's a hardcore Buddhist LOL

  • rebelwithcause

God is IN me so it's hard to NOT talk about Him.

Sometimes though, I feel like Christians just sit around in our Christian groups and talk about God. WE all know Christ. WE'RE not the ones that need it. Go OUT and talk about God. Tell somebody else who has never experienced the love of Christ about Him. That's why we're here.

  • surfs_upletsGO@xanga

when God is really inside you how can you help but not talk about him? I tell people all the time about the big and little things he does for me or about what he can do for everyone. I dont know what I would do without God and I tell people that every time I need help I pray and he hears and answers. he doesnt always answer in the way I want but he answers according to what he knows I need. sometimes its hard for me to open my mouth to talk about him to people I don't know at all but Im working on myself to just share and if they get angry after I walk away then thats up to them I need to work on myself to just plant a seed and let God do the gardening....@rebelwithcause - I agree with you about needing to talk with non-Christians about our faith not just in our Christian groups thats become a real habit for some Christians (yes myself included) to the author of this post GREAT QUESTION!

  • crevis05@xanga

I talk about him all the time.  Even with my non believing friends.

  • AlterEgo909@xanga

I actually think I do it the most here on Xanga than I do anywhere else (outside of church)

when Christianity is ALL ABOUT JESUS... it's not hard...

  • Ooglick@xanga

I actually find it hard to talk about Jesus, especially to people who aren't Christian. It seems like it instantly makes people uncomfortable and I don't like making people uncomfortable. Occasionally if my friends are having major trouble in their lives I'll tell them that I'll pray for them...Otherwise I'm horribly silent. >.< It's one thing that I've always wondered about. How is it possible to talk about Jesus without that horrible feeling of being uncomfortable and forward?

@Ooglick@xanga - I Have the same problem its like someone takes your tongue and twists it! its not that I dont love him I do with all my heart I need to pray what one pastor said to pray ask Jesus to speak through you and that if he wants you to say something that he would put the words in your mouth. he said sometimes you witness to others by your outward appearence as well. ---J

sure, i discuss religion with people all the time.  but this question seems a little one-sided... it's not as though Christians are the only people capable of discussing Jesus.

  • SirNickDon@xanga

@too_pretty_to_die@xanga - You're dead right.  I think that non-Christians are actually a lot more willing to freely discuss Jesus than Christians.  A majority of Christians are afraid of accidentally saying something unorthodox about Jesus; they just want to use Jesus to teach doctrine or convert someone.  Non-Christians are more likely to just be interested in Jesus.

  • sarahzthoughts@xanga

Probably not as much as I should be...then again, I am a pretty new Christian, and I am still learning so much. I talk about my spiritual journey with people who have had more experience with the Christian walk, because I feel like I need to be a lot more secure in my faith before I go out and talk about the difference Christ has made in my life to others.

My transformation was certainly nothing like a light switch reaction...you know, lost and depressed one day, then BAM accepted Christ and everything was smooth sailing after that...no, that hasn't happened to me. Not yet, anyway.

However, I do like having religious discussions with my friends. I love listening to their views and when we talk about God I do tell them what I'm going through by becoming a Christian, and why I chose to make that decision. I don't try to make every conversation about faith but when an opportunity comes up I try to grab onto it. People say that if God is in you how can you not talk about Him...but I feel that it's exactly because God is in me that makes it so difficult to talk about Him.

Think about it...how can you explain something that gives you such joy and fulfillment in terms that a non-Christian could understand? There are no words...and it is just so intimate to me that sometimes I want to keep it close to my heart. I believe in living by example though, so people can see the difference God has made in my life by the way I treat others. Sometimes actions speak louder than words!

  • AngelBeast777@xanga

With a relatively new belonger in the house discussion about the Triune is daily and often most vigorous (and fun)!

  • Stephanie_J_B@xanga

@Ooglick@xanga - It's the same way for me, sadly...I think that my actions probably speak louder than my words, because I don't always tell people I'm a Christian (at work, for example) but somehow they just seem to know. It's something I really should work on though, being more comfortable just talking about Him!

  • Ooglick@xanga

@sarahzthoughts@xanga - Exactly! I feel as though my relationship with God is something that I can't really express without sounding really cheesy. It's too big for me to talk about in terms that make sense to me, so I just get stuck feeling awkward. :$ Hopefully in time I'll learn what it is I'm supposed to say.

The more we talk to Jesus, the more we listen to Him, the more we have to share about Him.

I always leave out the intimate parts of my relationship with Him just as I would not reveal the intimate details of my marriage.  Having a real relationship with Jesus kind of makes it a natural thing to talk about.  However, I think it is awkward to try to invent ways to bring Him up out of the blue.  It is much more appropriate to allow Him to come into the conversation when the hearer is experiencing a problem or has a question due to their ignorance of His grace which is available to them.

I talk about Jesus all the time. I must say that I have always called myself a Christian but never followed it with action or words until last year when I went to an Acquire the Fire in Baltimore Maryland. Now Im at an internship with Teen Mania Ministries and I call for Acquire the Fire. Its awesome being able to not be afraid of sharing my faith and living in complete obediance to the Lord.  I teach back home at my church (when I am there of course). If you continuously study the Bible and truely desire the relationship God will give you the words of truth speak to those who need to hear.  Its pretty amazing.

  • memo2662

It comes out in most every conversation I am having. Jesus is a big part in my life so He's going to come up sooner or later in about everything I am saying in a conversation; no matter who I'm talking to.

  • pkcricket@xanga

I'll be honest...He does not permeate my conversations like others are saying.  I do love Jesus and think about Him often, but I don't want to lie and say my relationship with Him is such right now that I am on fire and His name is tattoed on my tongue.  He is a big part of my life and I do get around to talking about Him, but He's not my 24/7...for good or for bad.  I don't think I'm as spiritually strong as I've been in the past.
