  • Has Anyone Ever Done a Random Act of Kindness for You?

    Guest post submitted by wanderer1088

This video remind me of when someone once paid for me and my two friends dinner.

It was a weekend and the three of us had gone out to the local ice cream parlor. An older couple sat down in the booth next to us. They could tell by our age we were college students. They asked us if we went to school in the area and we said yes. Well it turned out the were alumni of the school we were attending. We continued to make small talk with the couple until our food came. They finished before us and went up to pay the lady came back to leave a tip.

Before she left she turned to us and we don't have a lot but we know what it's like to be in college and we remeber when people did things for us so we would like to give you money for your meal. She handed us $30 and then left. One of my friends ran after her and gave her and her husband a hug.

Me and my other friend sat there too stunned to do anything. It was just enough to cover our meal and tip. God really blessed us because we had no buisness eating out. We went straight back to campus and told everybody. I still tell people about it. It's been about a year since it happened. One day I will do something to repay them for what they did. I will pass on the kindness they bestowed upon me.

What about you, has anyone ever done some random act of kindness for you? Did you ever do anything because of it? Have you ever done a random act of kindness?

When I was little my younger sister kept smiling and looking over at an older man at the next table, and it made his day. :) He paid for everyone at our table (but didn't tell us, he just told the waitress, and she let us know). It was really great cos it's not like we were rich or anything, and very sweet of him to do that, for hardly any reason at all.

I've had someone pay for my drink ahead of me in the drive through at Starbucks, twice.  Same location, too.

I teach in a ghetto high school and the staff does random acts of kindness to me almost everyday.  This has been a very strong force in my life.

As a result I have completely mended my ways and commit random acts of kindness almost every day too.

It's not much, but I really appreciated it that day.  I was walking to Geometry during freshman year and I had a lot of books in my hand.  So, as I was walking some kid pushed me by accident, and all of my books fell to the ground. The kid left, but another guy came to help me.  He asked me what room I was going to, and he held the books for me and walked me to the room which was only a few feet away but, still very nice.  I'm actually close friends with him now, and he still does the littlest acts that mean so much.  That was by far the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me in school, at least.

Every year my parents used to give me money for my birthday and told me to use it wisely.  I considered it was wise enough to give it to my best friend because his family was running low on income.  We don't talk anymore, so I guess I won't be doing that anymore.  You can read about it in my blog.

    uh-huh

My first post High school education, i was about to get kicked out second semester for lack of funds in my account despite a 4.0 GPA, i couldn't come up with the cash and i was weeks away from graduating.  An anonymous person made a personal donation worth a lot of money and i graduated a short time later.  until this day i have no idea who it may have been but they are awesome.  after that i have paid it forward every chance i get.

in high school, i was part of a club called Random Acts of Kindness, and we would do everyting from volunteering at various walk-a-thons, to buying people dessert, to raking leaves in neighborhoods. if random acts of kindness such as the one you mention in your post brighten your day, you should definitly consider going online and looking up the national club of Random Acts of Kindness. It exists! and i'm quite sure it'll inspire you and brighten many more of your future days. =] maybe, you'll even be inspired to join yourself!

this isn't quite as big a deal, but i still remember it.
my senior year in high school, i parked infront of this kid marc. and everyday we'd mess with each others car. put up the windshield wipers or foldover the mirrors or something.
so one day, he has the perfect opportunity to pull out of parking lot (which is INSANE)... as my car is like... falling apart. the rubber lining and everything. and i guess he saw me sitting there struggling for a while, and he parked right in the middle of the parking lot, like no one could move around him, and he helped me.
i didn't know he could be so nice. haha. but i love it.

I was walking through the clinic with my appointment cards on my hands, then it accidentally fell on the ground. Someone helped me pick up my cards and until this day, I always believe in the goodness of people.

Yes, I've done random acts of kindness, not only to my loved ones, but to others as well. "A kind word can warm three winter months." God bless! :)

    Huge Props!

One time my friend and I got stuck with no gas and I was panicking and this woman came up and gave us $20.00! I offered to send it back to her, but she said no, it wasn't necessary.
I have helped other people get gas when they were stuck, is that kind of like "paying it forward"?
