For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. – Isaiah 9:6

This is a very beautiful prophecy telling of the coming of Messiah, as you well know.
I never tire of hearing this sung in Handel's Messiah.
Thanks for sharing a great scripture.
It sounds like dillusion of grandeur by proxy
HALLELUJAH!
the impossible is possible and will happen in God
I absolutey love this verse!
It reminds me just how God sent His Son as a baby, but that He is also the Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace! I love it!
If you read the following verse, you'll see the truly spectacular thing:
Of the increase of his government and of peace
there will be no end,
on the throne of David and over his kingdom,
to establish it and to uphold it
with justice and with righteousness
from this time forth and forevermore.
That's why we can say along with Paul, He who began a good work in us will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ! (Philippians 1:6)
God's huge heart for us :)
Negative. God's heart for EVERYONE.
Jesus comes for us -- for all of us. Who would dare to say no, we do not need you, everything's ok here? We know it's not; we need a person -- one of us -- to come and show us the way.
it means salvation and everlasting life. Thank You Jesus! :D
