@xapatotheworld - i wonder... my favorite conference ministry Passion was there yesterday... i'm waiting for the podcast... it was at the CCLemon in Shibuya which I'm so thankful they went there... it's an answer to a prayer made 6 years ago... and I can't thank God enough for what they've done...

i hope you went... you would have had a blast... and if you did go... you gotta tell me how it was...

yea it is tough as far as I'm concerned... but the worth of it is far greater than the hardships that'll have to be faced on the mission field... and i don't know about these freakin' naysayers... but I wanna face more hardships and sufferings and trials for the sake of the Gospel then LIVE in a cushy place like America... contending for the Gospel is far more rewarding than just existing and coasting through life and Japan is where I'm praying for the opportunity to open up...

@leadworshipper82 - I didn't go, but I do have a friend who went.  I would have been there if I could, but I'm on the other side of Honshu and domestic travel is really expensive (plus I had to teach today).  But my friend went and I'm waiting for her to give me her take on it.  I went to Passion when it was in Atlanta last year.  That was great!  I'm so glad that they came to Japan!  I'll let you know when I find out details, k?  :)

@droftreeology@xanga - Yay I'm glad someone shares that with me :). I think God wants me to go to Ireland, but I'm not completely sure. I'm still quite young, too. But I'm almost positive I'm supposed to be some type of missionary. It's all I can see myself doing right now...

@xapatotheworld - it passed already... but i'm waiting for the Passion podcast about it..

@TheBereanLife - You're definitely onto something here. Christianity is growing more in Asia/Latin America and diminishing in Europe/North America. The way we've thought about missions for so long is definitely changing and we need to be aware of that and adjust accordingly. We always need to sending witnesses both near and far: Jersualem, Judea, Samaria and to the uttermost parts of the earth.

And as @xapatotheworld wrote, we need to be willing to serve God wherever and however He calls us. We don't pick the place, He does.

Being from New Zealand, I have had the pleasure of working alongside quite a few missionaries from quite a few countries. But it seems that most of them are coming here from the USA.

If God's will is that I will work as a missionary overseas, I would be praying that it would be in either Romania, the USA or Australia.

i'm dying to go back to nicaragua! i went there in the summer of 06 and it turned me upside down in so many ways. because of nicaragua, everything changed--religion, politics, the way i handle money, the way i look at people different from me, everything i believe. i'm so excited to be going back next march!

I would go to Africa in a heartbeat...

Japan - it's an incredibly wealthy and amazing country, yet less than .1% Christian, and with the highest suicide rate in the world. I actually am going there as a short-term missionary.

Funny enough, i'm actually moving to Argentina for missions in a couple of days.

What an amazing God we serve. :) ~Lauren

i went to peru this summer, and it was phenomenal.

I'd want to go somewhere in Africa and help AIDS orphans. It breaks my heart thinking about how many children lose their parents to AIDS when it could be prevented. They need someone to care about them, so they can just worry about being kids. Not about how they're going to get food or water or trying to figure out where they're going to sleep that night....

@theycallmecrazy7@xanga - i just saw this reply! sorry, i didn't see it before. this was ages ago.

i agree, it's nice that we can share that. Pass_the_Aura also wants to go to ireland as a missionary.

just keep praying about it. God calls people when they're young. i felt God's call on my life when i was in sixth grade.

hey, maybe someday when we're both in ireland we can meet up and have a chat. ;)
