Wow, that's amazing! It's hilarious, but, it really looks like they are enjoying themselves, and hopefully enjoying the Spirit of God as well.
I kinda think that this whole "Revelife" thing is pretty strange. Sometimes it's like it's this Christian orthodox site, other times it seems to be mocking Christians and Christianity...I can't figure out what the point is. Strange indeed...
@no_more_grace@xanga - Agreed. It seems the people who run Revelife still aren't sure either.
They've gotten away from the poor gasoline on a topic and toss in the match and run approach, but, now the readership has dropped. The devotional posts are sometimes great, but get little feedback. Posts like this... I don't know.
I think part of the problem is that Christians are often easily offended, and we come in quite a variety.
This makes it sound like Christians aren't allowed to have fun and worship. I think this is really creative, and they seem to be enjoying it. I don't think Christian gatherings have to be somber.
What's up Revelife? This just seems mocking.
was thinking of doing this today. but didnt.
@willow_ann209@xanga - Revelife seems to enjoy mocking Christians every now and then.
@Tom - The big problem seems to be that they can't decide if this is a place primarily for Christians to gather and study, encouage each other, etc, OR, if it's primarily an evangelistic outreach to non-Christians. It seems that they can't decide who their primary audience is, which is why we get posts like this that seem to mock Christians sometimes, and then other posts that seem to almost mock non-Christians.
@no_more_grace@xanga - The way I see it, when it boils down to beliefs, Revelife will get serious. But, when it comes to things like this, and other statements about culture and aesthetics, its open to be joked about.
We should keep in mind that if it's to the Glory of God, then there is nothing wrong with it, even if we find it a bit weird or comical.
As the ark of the LORD came into the city of David, Michal the daughter
of Saul looked out of the window and saw King David leaping and dancing
before the LORD, and she despised him in her heart.
And David returned to bless his household. But Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David and said, "How the king of Israel honored himself today, uncovering himself today before the eyes of his servants’ female servants, as one of the vulgar fellows shamelessly uncovers himself!" 21And David said to Michal, "It was before the LORD, who chose me above your father and above all his house, to appoint me as prince over Israel, the people of the LORD—and I will make merry before the LORD. 22I will make myself yet more contemptible than this, and I will be abased in your eyes. But by the female servants of whom you have spoken, by them I shall be held in honor." 23And Michal the daughter of Saul had no child to the day of her death. - 2 Samuel 6
C'mon people, how about we lighten up? Sometimes we just all need to have a little sense of humor. This made me laugh! I totally enjoyed it, and took it only for what it is. I appreciate everything posted on here, and it reaches out to so many in so many ways. Maybe you aren't touched with this article, but I can tell you it will touch others. And maybe one that does touch you, doesn't touch others. Isn't that what this is supposed to be all about anyway?
On topic of the article, I honestly don't think I've ever attended anything this crazy... but I'll keep thinking and let you know if I remember anything....
not gonna lie, this is pretty stinky.
heheh.
@Tom - Good stuff
@Mom4Him@xanga - It's fine to have a sense of humour, but I honestly don't think that this is funny. I haven't been around long enough to really "get" Revelife or their purpose, but it makes me uneasy when Christians mock other Christians like this. Just my two cents.
Strangest Christian event I've ever attended?
Cornerstone Festival, but, that's just awesome. Or a Carman concert, thankfully tickets were free (was given some at the door) and I left after three or four songs. Many were enjoying it though.
@Tom - Cornerstone is AWESOME! I wish all Christian events were like it
@no_more_grace@xanga - I've been reading revelife since it started and I don't really get it either. Oh well.
Just wondering...did I see undergarments getting twirled around? o.o
@samuelock@xanga - Yeah, that would be pretty smelly.
i went to this service that turned into a ministry night....by far the strangest moment was when a 10 year old put his hand on a grown man's head and was shouting for the holy spirit to come on him.... the motive was good, but it was a little weird.
Silly, but if more people were this excited about worshipping God...
The strangest Christian events I've been to tend to happen in Pentecostal churches. Nothing against Pentecostals, it's just unusual to me.
OKAY! I don't think Revelife is mocking anyone...AND THIS IS aWESOMELY fUNNY!lol.lol. aT this church I was going to, they were doing Soldier boy, and the pastor was trying to do it to, sayign do that Jesus soldier, and I was dying laUGHING right in the front seat!LOL. dOS e dOS? 80'S rETRO???LOL!This was gooood.
Now one time I heard someone making fun of someone else's personal worship when it was alter call, and I was'nt feeling that.
It had me interested until he started singing, "You spin me right round Jesus, etc..." that was lame... but it's worship, I guess. As King David said, "I'll become even more undignified than this!"
@no_more_grace@xanga - you know one of the reasons I like these kind of post and some others is that it gives you a feel for what is happening in the Body of Christ.
On the same token if we can not open ourselves up to have our more quirkier sides shown as well then we get way to serious. I think as Christians we need to be open to every facet of the Christian walk. The good, bad, ugly and down right weird and hilarious. We need to be an open book.
If you can't laugh at yourself first, then who can you laugh at?
@mamma_sez - I don't have a problem laughing at myself, my issue is with mocking other Christians. I don't that this is a video of some "Revelife" person.
