The Branded Life
by mr. oakI read that by first grade, you can identify over 200 brands. It's a crazy thought showing how much brands affect our lives. So here's my day off the top of my head - I think this reveals a lot about me and how much my life is branded.

What kinds of brands do you use in your daily life - that you can't live without?

wow this entry must've taken awhile to put together with all the pictures and formatting lol
LOL interesting day...it looks like.
I barely go a day without Coca Cola, Verizon, Dell (though I'm trying to break my laptop addiction) and Toshiba... good job on the pictures. That had to take some time.
For me, Starbucks, Dell, Apple, Gospel Publishing House, Cipro, Flagyl, Protonix, Keebler, Bulova, American Eagle, Sprite, Revelife (of course), Publix, Sigrid Olsen
Deer park, Under Armour, Ben & Jerry's, Amy's, Crest, Listerine, Mudd, Moe's, Rao's, Tide, Windex, Skintimate, Venus, John Frieda, Equate, Ban, L'Oreal makeup, Aasics, RocketDog, HP, Banana Boat...
That's all I could see just looking around my room, but I'm sure there are many, many others.
Oh! Almost forgot: Toshiba (my PC), Apple (iPod), Motorola (phone), Nikon (camera).
i've never heard of zondervan. my list would be a little less.
i really can't think of my brands or i would share them. i know i'm using crest as far as toothpaste but i really don['t pay attention to the things i'm using that much. microsoft i think anyone who has a computer is probably using something by them.
Apple, Fender, Gibson, Vox (guitar amp), Camel, Zippo, Specialized (bike), Hanes, Coca-cola, Converse All Stars...
those are the big ones off the top of my head
Was this inspired by the guest on the Colbert report the other night or it just a coincidence?
Anyways, brands I can think of that I use daily are Apple (Computer, MP3 player), Intel (Hardware), Microsoft (Software), Sony (TV), Verizon (Internet), Comcast (TV), Converse (Shoes), Union Bay (Jeans), American Eagle (Shirts), Listerine (Mouthwash), ACT (Mouthwash), Oral B (Toothbrush), Zyrtec (Medication), Phillips (Shaver), and Panasonic (Camera), Motorola (Phone), Youtube (Network), Google (Network), Last.fm (Network).
mac, sony, acer, dell...can't live without my technology
Fujitsu, Sony, LG, Pioneer, White Lion, Listerine, Kirkland, Sharp, Tylenol, Vick's....and many, many more....
I like how you did this post! So many Revelifes and Microsoft too :) Mine would be a LOT of Nokia. Ha.
I don't know if I'd use the term "live without". People survived for centuries without using any kind of brand name stuff. I'm sure I could survive. I wouldn't like it though.
In a purely metaphorical sense of "couldn't live without"...
CHAPSTICK!!
Then Crest, Dell, whatever brand my boyfriend's car is (I don't know what it is. >< ), Creative Zen (mp3 player), and whatever brands my journals and pens are.
Blah... I dont pay attention to my life that much... all I can think of is DELL, Microsoft, and Dr. Pepper right now.
I am not too surprised. When my boys were still in car seats (in the old days when by three they no longer used them), They would know all the common symbols for certain places. I would here them say McDonalds or Browns Chicken or Taco Bell. When we were potty training, my one son always had to go "potty" when he saw a gas station.
Brands do have an identity in our lives but I am not sure how much I identify with them with exception to the cheap ones are great.
Ones I have used most my life are Crest (yep I am a Crest Kid) and Cherrios.
dood... that's awesome!!!!!
ok... let's see... i can't do a break down per hour through the day... but i can list my brands I have...
Tempur-pedic, Fender, Adidas, Puma, K-swiss, true religion brand jeans, 7 for all mankind Jesus, 575 Jeans, Fred perry, Energie Jeans, AE, Colgate, Garnier Fruitis, Oral B, Levis, Buick, Epiphone, Boss, Fulltone, Line 6, Electro-harmonix, Proco, Elixir, Epiphone, D'addario, J. Crew, Etnies, American Apparel, Compaq, facebook, revelife, hotmail, Verizon, LG, NASV, Brita, Blizzard, EA, Nautica, CK, Gap
there are others but I can't think of them off of my head...
Coke, Dell, Revelife, GMC, Starbucks, Wrangler, Justin Boots and Sprint.
Sad life, eh?
@NightlyDreams@xanga - Zondervan is a brand of Bible..they're a publisher anyway. Just thought I'd answer a question you didn't really ask...necessarily.
I like this post...I may have to steal it's concept at some point for my blog. (I'll give you full credit though, of course)
I did find the Chef Boyardee one quite funny.
There's only one brand that I'm really big on...that would be Apple!
@thepurpleporpoise - thanks
i was wondering what "weird" thing that was. i don't know the "brand" of bibles or brand of any of my books actually.
original great shows so much of who you are great! Wish you lived next door. Like that.
thanks
