Question of the Day: If Bible Characters Kept Blogs....
Most prominent Bible characters had pretty crazy lives; a day in the life of, say, one of the twelve disciples, was probably far more exciting than a day in mine - yet I'm the one blogging on my personal journal about what I ate for breakfast or what time I went to bed. Can you imagine Peter's blog if he'd been able to keep one? Maybe it'd go something like this:
Me and my big mouth
Note to self #47: Do not call Jesus out when he predicts his death. Yeah, he did it again...but this time, when I told him to chill out, he looked me straight in the eye and said, "Satan get behind me!" Satan?!?! Uh...geez...my bad.....If Bible characters used blogs, whose would you read?
(I'd subscribe to Joseph's: "Potiphar's wife keeps staring at my six-pack. Awkwaaard.")

I'd love to read about Deborah the Judge. That was a woman who knew how to kick some ass!
I would for sure want to read Judas' blog. He is endlessly fascinating to me.
Maybe David or Paul. David seems so manic depressive. It would be interesting to read the ups and downs. I can sort of imagine his Facebook status changing from elated to depressed in the same day.
Paul was so in-your-face, and he went so many places that his would be an exciting adventure.
LOL! Peter's blog was so hilarious to me. IDK why.
Paul's- some great apologetic entries would definately be in his blog.
David's- he's relatable to me. With his mistakes, victories, ups, downs, etc. But what draw's me the most is his passion. He was passionate about his love-life, life in general, and most of all the Lord. I want to emulate his passion.
Hagar's would have the best blog, imo.
David --
8:00am All the men are at war and I'm just chilling in the house. I think I'm going to take a turn on the roof.
8:05am Well, THAT was interesting ...maybe I should just go check again to make sure I saw what I saw.
Paul --
Shipwrecked again. nothing new! Bitten by a snake, something new!
Mary --
That Martha, always hanging out with the boys, why doesn't she seem to care that I need help. I know, next time I'm going to complain to the master.
Lazarus --
last entry :: I'm so sick, I don't think I can survive. This will be my last entry. Jesus, where are you?
(a few days later)
Well, guess who's back!
I could have a lot of fun with these.
Esther's would definitely be interesting and probably so would Jonah's, and maybe Hosea's
LOL. THAT'S HILARIOUS. peter and joseph both. hahahahahahha.
David, Esther, Paul, Peter, Joseph, Jacob... oh man whoever.
I kind of want to know what Ruth had to say. Â
LOL! This is great. I love the Peter blog.
Wow! So many people that's I'd love to see the inner workings.
You know, we have John's blog. The coolest section, the book of Revelation! It's so out there. It's so controversial! And it's the only book with a blessing attached.
Who I'd like to read? Maybe the other point of view of a well known incident:
* one of Joseph's 11 brothers traveling to Egypt for food
* the jailer holding Joseph
* Bathsheba during her affair to David then their marriage and the death of their first son
* Judas as his doubts or other stumbling blocks take him further from Jesus
* Lazarus or Mary or Martha...
I'm so eager to go home to hear these stories first hand from the ones that experienced them (well, Judas won't be there but....)
@lissalinn@xanga - Hosea's would be really interesting.
Man, I think if someone tried to make blogs for all the bible characters, it'd be really hilarious. I can't say which person's blog I'd like to read the most off the top of my head right now.
Noah's wife would have a pretty interesting blog, methinks.
And if Jesus had a blog as a teen... that would be very intriguing.
What about Jonah?
"Dude, I can't believe I get a wireless signal down here... So yeah, remember that whole Nineveh thing from a few weeks back... Well, you'll never guess where I am today..."
I would have to go for Jeremiah's blog, just to see the life of the man behind the sobering messages of the Lord. The other I'd have to subscribe to would be Timothy.
peter's. definitely peter's. :)
David because to me, he displays the most humanity in the fact that when he's low, he's done some awful things, but is still capable of good.
It'd be like that song Hallelujah
Jeremiah's blog would be super emo. Same with Solomon's.
"UGH life is so POINTLESS. There's nothing new to do. EVAR."
or
"This girl came up to me and asked me if she loved me. I was all like,
who the heck are you???? Turns out she was one of my wives. When did
that happen??? I can't keep track of all these girls!!!!! Dem b***** be runnin' wild."
Few centuries later Ezekiel writes...
"So...back when I was in high school, I used to try and predicted stuff...you know, like the end result of the games and stuff. I can't help that I have the gift of prophecy.
Anyway...
The jocks used to get mad at me if I said that they were going to lose by a landslide. They'd always tell me to go eat shit.
Guess what I did today? ::cry:: "
That would've been super awesome!!
Matthias (Judas' replacement)
"Holy Crap! These were the guys everyone was talking about? They're just as clueless as me...but I have an excuse....And that Peter guy....how bad can you be with a sword? You try to kill someone and only hit their ear? Weak!"
Paul, particularly for the Petra-and-before period
"[Insert Anti-Christian Political Cartoon Here]",
"Dang...blue dots everywhere! I still can't see normally...." and
"Today, God said [...] to me. Someday I hope I can understand all this stuff"
Jonah
"OMG! I just got ate by a fish. No, seriously, I'm not joking. A giant fish freakin' ate me!"
Paul would Freakin' rock. Especially since Blogs mean online news. I can just see him taking an article about Christians wanting to be circumcised and writing a whole thing about how they may as well castrate themsleves (Gal 5:12).
On the same token, I know he's not a Biblical character, and what with all the writing he did, he probably wouldn't have had time, but Calvin would've made for a good read. He gets off on so many tangents, I'd love to see him expound on them in Blog form.
Now this is right up my alley as a christian fiction author. I would not only read the blog but I'd write one myself.
I think I would be most interested in what Eve had to say or even what went through Judas' mind when he decided to betray Christ and right befroe he hung himself.
A lot of the books in the bible were written by "characters" so I guess that's as close to a blog as they left us. www.waterplantgrowth.com
@TheMarriedFreshman@xanga - I was thinking the same thing. You are already off to a good start. let me know when it's up.www.waterplantgrowth.com (visit me on the web sometime)
