Jesus On Your Toast and Cheetos
by mr. oak
Ok - so you gotta explain something to me here. Ever hear about the man who toasted a piece of bread to only find Jesus' image burnt in the bread? And then he put it on eBay and made hundreds. I think I've heard this story hundreds of times since the birth of eBay. If it's not toast, then it's a Cheeto...if it's not a Cheeto, then it's the warping of paint....or a birthmark on a baby's butt.Seriously, folks - are people so hungry to see Jesus that they're willing to fork up hundreds for a Cheeto? I know a place where I guarantee you'll see Jesus for a lot less effort - it's called THE BIBLE.
I just don't get the appeal. In fact, if I were a conniving entrepreneur, I would start mass-manufacturing a toaster that ONLY toasts something that looks like Jesus. I would make MILLIONS....though, it would be disturbing to see my friends biting into Jesus' head.
I mean, I got a good chuckle out of the Elvis images popping up in the past...but now Jesus is the new Elvis. Jesus sighting this, Jesus sighting that. Jesus in my cereal. Jesus in my car. Jesus on my Cheeto.
It's one thing to see how God works around you, but it's another to pay tons of cash for a piece of toast that you think has Jesus on it.
What do you think? Jesus appearing on toast - divine inspiration or insane hallucination?

hahaha, I found this to be particularly amusing because my friend had explained the gospel to a man 3 years ago who claimed he saw Jesus in his bacon grease. I kid thee not (though I'm sure you're not hindered from believing me)
Well, all I can say is that unless there is a movement of non-believers turning to Christ because they "see Jesus" in their breakfast, I highly doubt that this is the work of God.
This is opposed to what's happening in the Islamic world where there have been Jesus sightings in dreams. And not only have there been sightings but a conversation into faith of Jesus as the savior of their lives.
I like what pja2 said which is that God stooped down in humility, and saved people from their own destruction. God does work in ways that are truly unpredictable. However, when He works, we see results. I have yet to hear of a conversion take place after seeing Jesus in someone's bowl of cereal.
How does anyone know what He really looks like?
My brother carved "Jesus" into a pumpkin one year. It was super sweet.
I found a heart in a potato chip a couple of months ago. I took a picture and then ate it.
I'd rather look for Him in those who were created in His image.
I just toasted 10 bibles and he wasn't in any of them.
insane hallucination.Â
I doubt that if Jesus wanted to talk to you that:1) He'd appear on your toast2) He'd approve of your selling said piece of toast on E-Bay for money
insane...i mean, why would you want to eat Jesus' head off? I think that's disturbing too.
But i do agree the Bible is a way to see Jesus.
Amen to that.
I'm just happy to see a non-sychophantic monotheist!
Intersting entry =]
I think you can find God in anything..because let's face it..he created everything! =)
However, I think some of the things people "see" seem a little less than geniune!
one day someone is going to look into their toilet and see a turd in the shape of jesus or the virgin mary. >_>
There is other evidence that God has made that we might not see. Example:
Laminin- the glue that holds together our body tissues. In the shape of a... CROSS!!
once for a friend's birthday I got her a stamp that puts an image of the Virgin Mary on bread. Then you toast it and voila, a miracle! It's too funny. So yes, someone has had this mass-marketing idea already. After all, there's a toaster that will put an image of Hello Kitty on your toast...
@erica_faith@xanga - Yes.. reading the Bible and praying are the only ways to know Jesus. Can't simple misuse His name.
if they realy wanted to please jesus, they shud just do wat he did - love humanity, give a little money to charity... tat kinda stuff
im sure if he were among us, Jesus would be relaly sad to see his people act soo foolish!!
