Praying For Little Things
from k_stin
Last Sunday in church, we sang a hymn with the line, "I need thee, oh, I need thee, every hour I need thee." There was one verse that talked about how we need Him in times of joy and pain. It's so true. Even in the mundane things of life, I can sometimes be like, "Well, I probably won't need to pray about that, that's pretty easy." I know--it's silly to think that I think that, but I do. But right after I think that, I think of all the things that can go wrong. Things we don't even expect. In college, I learned about praying for everything by watching some of the people around me. Now, I pray for a lot of silly things, but the thing is that God is always there to help me out. Just now, as I was leaving to drive home the threat of severe weather hung in the sky. Whenever it is difficult to drive, I continually am praying for God's help. He always, always helps Tonight, he held back the rain until I was here safely sitting and watching the storm rage outside of my house. I really do need Jesus. Every hour.
What little things are you praying for this week?

little things is not what i would call my prayer list that's been raging in me... but i've narrowed it down to five things I ask God for...
1. Entrust her heart to me and give her to me in marriage and I vow I will fulfill God's word to what a husband MUST be...
2. Get me through school...
3. Get me a car...
4. Get me a better job...
5. Let me fulfill the ministry calling you've placed in my heart to fulfill...
those have been my prayers for the past 2 months now... nonstop... everyday... every hour.... the first one more than anything...
needless to say, number 2 is being fulfilled with amazing color
#3 has yet to be fulfilled
#4 is on its way... Lord willing
#5 has yet to be heard, feel like it's being discarded though I'm not sure...
I pray for many things all through out the day,.. I pray for people I see and think about,I pray for someone when I comment them...I pray when I lose something and am trying to find it...God says "Here we go again"...I find that if I pray BEFORE I start the search the blessing is that I may or may not find it but I have peace either way,If I wait until I have looked a while than I have forfitted some of the peace.
I'm a Christian, just like you and I need the Lord, every minute of the day. I'm 22 and my boyfriend is 42 and we have a 6 month old baby girl together. He's in the army, for basic training, since March. I haven't heard from him in three weeks now. I've been praying, that he must just be busy and is alright.h
Finances!
For my husband to be able to trust in God again
For strength and guidance in raising my 7 month old son
I love that song. And I've never been to other church besides my own (that is now no longer) that sings it. *sigh*
Anyways, my little prayers this week are for:
1) a friend feeling left out
2) productivity for all the studying I need to do - along with time management
3) reasons to smile and bless God throughout the day...which hasn't been hard so far this week
The big prayers relate to life direction...less than 2 weeks to wait on that!
I've prayed for friends, and losing weight x] I need to get healthier.
I pray that I'll always remember to put God and his work first, so that he will then bless me with all the rest that I stand in need of.
1. That a minor little skin problem will get better.
2. That despite recent tense moments, my mother and my aunt will continue their relationship without arguing or anything unpleasant like that.
3. That my move back to my college town can be moved from early August to mid-July.
I totally understand what you mean though...they seem like tiny things that can resolve themselves, but if I can ask for His help in them, I usually do.
We definitely need God every hour, every moment in our lives.. I thank the Lord for a new day. I pray for His continuous blessings, guidance, and protection for me and my family, my friends, relatives, churchmates and to all the people in the world.
I pray for the victims of tragedy and healing for people with sickness.. I pray for strength to be able to do what God wants me to do. I pray for enlightenment for those who need it the most. And I pray for our prayers to be answered according to God's own time and will. God bless! :)
I have a chronic illness. I sometimes pray for things like God's help to get to the bathroom at work before I have an accident. It's humbling, but He's always there.
This week I have been praying for children-my husband and I are praying to have a baby-naturally or adoption.. and my family to find God.
Praying for some money to arrive this week that I am expecting so we can pay some bills. It may not arrive until next week but I am praying God intervenes otherwise.
Praying for my son who is out of state right now visiting a friend.
Praying my husband will get well soon. He's been sick all week.
Praying for God to direct me with respect to church. I haven't gone in 8 months and I do love my church, but I feel drawn away.
i know it sounds silly...
a couple of days ago, i got a "serious" hiccup that made me cannot go to bad. then, i prayed and it stopped miraculously!!!
Wow~ Thanks to God.
I also learned to pray for little things in college. I don't know what i'll pray for... but i always tell God first as much as i can when I want or need something. i've also learned to thank Him when those things come true. i've also learned to tell Him when i'm sad that it doesn't but i tell Him always that He knows what's best for me. things like that make me feel awesome... and help me keep a closer and more personal relationship with Him. =)
