    by mr. oak

ever attend a church and have the pastor say in the middle of service "now, take this time and greet the people around you."shakehands

Always thought that was slightly awkward, at the same time, it made you pause and notice the other person.  So why ihave this awkwardness only on Sundays, when you can have this awkwardness on ALL days!

I'd like to introduce the ROMOT program.  which is the Revelife Outreach Meet Others Thing program.  and you're all a part of it.

ok - try this out - comment on this blog stating your favorite movie or book and then subscribe and friend the person around you and say hello on their blog - this is a great way for people to meet other revelifers.  I mean, this is the power of our faith right?  We're all one body and connected one way or another - so let's meet each other and encourage each other as well...

    GO ROMOT!

    COOL!
My favorite movie would have to be The Sting.

hey all - i really enjoyed "mere christianity" by CS Lewis - as for movies, always was a fan of "empire in the sun".

Hahas, in my church, we always spend 3-5 minutes looking for the newcomers, despite the fact that we already know each other (but the chairperson doing the annoucement is usually one of the church elders and does not know all of us that well). In essence, that awkward moment allowed all of us to roll our eyes at the chair person and giggle and bond. And yeah, I suppose you are right. It makes us realize, hey! There IS are people around me..

My favorite movie is Ice Age, although I had to admit that Finding Nemo comes very close.

My favorite book would have to be "The Little Prince" although currently I am reading "The Pilgrim's Progress" is not too shabby either.

CS Lewis is one of my favorite authors.
the disciple by juan carlos ortiz was good too.
too many movies....can't just pick one!

Oh, this is my favorite part of service. I always climb over chairs and try to lighten things up to the max so that people are less guarded.

Without any question, my fave is "Confederacy of Dunces," by John Kennedy Toole.

I have a lot of fave books so I'm not going to list them. Iron Man has recently become my fave movie.

I have a lot of favorite books, so I'll just put the one I'm reading now, "Systematic Theology" by Wayne Grudem. (It's a huge text book sort of) lol. My favorite movie is probably Wish Upon a Star, an old Disney movie about two sisters who swap bodies after wishing to be the other under a shooting star. I used to watch it with my own sister like 50 times. lol

so many books and movies! but the last book i truly enjoyed was

The Girl's Guide to Hunting and Fishing

.  movies.. hmm. Amelie is beautiful, but Ironman was pretty darn awesome.

Favorite book?  well - I have a couple:  White Fang by Jack London....mostly because the author hung out where I grew up...  there's also my current read "Reaching for the Invisible God" by Yancey.

Movie?  where should I begin?  hmmm...ok...I'll default to Star Wars...for now.

  • adelynne

Favourite book... Gah, I can't choose But I can reread Zorro by Isabell Allende many times.

Favourite movie... Ever After: A Cinderella Story. Yep, I'm a fan of historical (period) romances, though that film wasn't factual

I'll be back to comment and friend later! :) Since I've got Friends Lock on.

@lilbitoflil@xanga - oh man, i totally hear ya on this!  i just recently picked up the DVD too....have you heard of the alternate ending?  i yet to see anything like that, but there are rumors to an alternate ending...it's pretty sweet too.

I wish I could feel more comfortable at those "greeting" times. I think I feel most comfortable with greeting times at my home church, the one I grew up in - even though I don't visit much. I guess it's because they are so warm and accepting.

I have many favorite movies.....but one of my favorite books is I Kissed Dating Goodbye.

    This is a neat idea!

  • fullmetalbunny

I'm the type to say my favorite movie is Men in Black...

I don't have a favorite book, I like too many books, but I'm fond of Catch-22...

And nobody asked, but I like nachos....

  • lonelyringfinger@xanga

@chrischoi - an alternate ending?  it's so good as is!  shimmy shimmy coca pop, shimmy shimmy roooock.

  • jo0o0ey

@Kim - That is a totally awesome book x] Although I must admit that I've only read sections of it.. I plan to read the whole thing eventually.. x]

@fullmetalbunny - I love nachos, too! I ate some last night. Although they were only taco bell nachos, not exactly top of the line by nachos standards.
