  • The origin of the Revelife name

If anyone tried looking for a domain name, you probably know just how hard it is.  almost everything is taken....

we had to think outside of the box.  taking a step back i always wanted to use the word revelation.  I think the Christian live is a constant process of revealing and disclosure and self discovery - so revelation felt good.  We tested a variety of words - revalight (but people spelled it wrong and revelight was taken), revnation (but people thought it was a motorcycle site) and others.  there were even some facetious attempts as well (thisplaceisachristianwebsiteforblogs.com)

then bob and amy, tried "revelife"  immediately saw that it was a great fit...

It's one of those names that came up and would later make sense.   I loved the fact that "revelation" was in it.  on the other hand, amy saw it as revel life - as in, the Christian life is immensely enjoyable...a life to revel in.

One thing i later wanted to see in the name was how we're all sojourners here in ways - that Christians have a heaven-bound mentality.  well, God doesn't disappoint - in french, "Reve" means dream - which is quite fitting.  it's a bit of a stretch but i can see how heaven would be the "dream" life....

all in all - whether it's a revelation, reveling in life, or living for the dream...revelife feels good.  I like the complexities in it and the simplicity of the message at the same time.

so that's the story of how the name revelife came to be...what do you guys think?  any thoughts on what the name could mean to you?
