Expelled - Ben Stein's movie about intelligent design
Ben Stein recently released a movie/documentary called "Expelled" that addresses the unfair plight of highly credentialed scholars who have been forced out of their prestigious institutions for supporting intelligent design as a possibility. The movie surprisingly manages to also include evolution theorists Richard Dawkins, PZ Myers, and William Provine. Moreover, this movie is without controversary with tons of criticism yet considerable interest (was number 9 in the box office this weekend, showing in only a handful of theaters).
First of all - who knew the teacher from Ferris Bueller was a christian?? anyone? anyone? anyone?
Here's the trailer:
I think this goes along well with Tim Keller's recent book, The Reason for God which talks about the rising secularism juxtaposed with rising spiritualism.
Anyone get a chance to watch the film? I'll try to watch it this weekend - but would love to hear your thoughts on this - whether you watched the film or not.

huh. did NOT know that's what this movie was about. saw the trailer but thought it was for the opposite. oops!
I'm going to try to catch it myself. Thanks for the headsup!
interesting.. makes me curious!
I haven't seen it, but Air1 has been talking about how good it is. :)
never even heard about this movie... interesting...
there were clips from the concentration camp i recently visited in germany...
1. Chemical reactions are hardly random, and I can't believe someone as intelligent as Bent Stein would dumb that down so much... but he did.
2. I thought spiritualism was going down, and secularism was on the rise?
3. I also thought he was Jewish.
Ah yes, expelled, the movie where creationists push their agenda under the moniker "intelligent design". It's hogwash, the biologists featured were duped under false pretenses to participate. PZ Myers actually was barred from attending the premiere!
The IDiots.
@adifferentkindofbeautiful - 1) the point wasnt chemical processes, but intellectual processes, and, he didn't really make any points himself at all, rather narrarated between the interviewees who made their own points.
2) i would probably agree
3) again correct.
